St Luke's Ministry Team

Rev. Craig Segaert commenced as St. Luke’s Acting Rector in early September 2026. His previous pastoral ministry was at St. Nicolas’ Anglican Church, Coogee. He served there for 2 weeks short of 25 years. Since retiring from St. Nics’ at the end of 2022, he has served as Acting Rector at Anglican churches in Freshwater, South Turramurra, Darlinghurst and now St. Luke’s, Mosman. Additionally, he is an Honorary Pastor at St. Mark’s Freshwater.
In the office of Acting Rector, he enjoys the challenge of guiding a church through a transitional phase as they search for a new Rector, while ensuring that they are not ‘marking time’ in terms of Kingdom ministry as sometimes the searching process can take a while.
He has a BA from Macquarie University. He worked in the building industry for 18 years in export and import, in both Sydney and Brussels, where he lived for 9 years. He has a BTh from Moore College, and was ordained in Sydney in 1998. He is married to Annie, and has two adult sons.

Peter Ellis was formerly Director of Music at St. Luke’s, Mosman from 2009-2015. He returned to St Luke’s in an acting capacity from late 2024. Originally from Halifax, UK, Peter has been resident in Australia since 2002. Since 2012 he has been Director of Choral Programs at Barker College, As well as direction of one of Australia’s largest school choral programs, Peter is conductor of the college’s renowned Chamber Choir. With Barker’s choirs, he has performed in USA, UK, France, Turkey and China, as well as giving the first performance outside the USA as well as the Boston and New York premieres of Eric Whitacre’s choral version of Goodnight Moon. Peter also directs several junior and alumni ensembles and teaches both middle and senior school classroom music. He has been MD of several school musicals including Les Miserablés (2023). Peter has been Music Director of Willoughby Symphony Choir since 2015. In that capacity he has made many appearances as conductor with the choir and orchestra, with multiple Australian and world premiere, broadcasts, recordings and an increased focus on female composers. He makes many other appearances as conductor, organist and continuo player in Sydney and beyond. Peter has choral compositions in preparation for publication and instrumental solo works published in the AMEB examination books.
